Pride & Prejudice (2005) Review!



Pride & Prejudice is a film released in 2005 based on the novel of the same name by Jane Austen. The film stars by Keira Knightley, Rosamund Pike, Matthew Macfadyen, and the others. Pride & Prejudice is set at the end of the 18th century where social class is still an important thing in that era.

The story is about a family named Bennet which has many girls who are forced by their mother to marry people from high social classes.

A woman named Jane Bennet betrothed to a rich man named Mr. Bingley at a party. Meanwhile, another daughter from the Bennet family named Elizabeth met with Mr. Darcy who comes from a noble or prominent family.

When Elizabeth met Darcy for the first time, Elizabeth felt hatred for him because of Darcy's arrogant and unfriendly nature. But as time goes by, Darcy feels love for Elizabeth. Unfortunately, the love story that occurs between the daughter of the Bennet family and a man who has a higher social status is faced with the existing conflict.

After watching Pride & Prejudice, the power of dialogue that occurs in the film is so strong. The dialogue that is shown is very simple, so that the audience could understand easily.

In addition, the characters in Pride & Prejudice are also very helpful to make this film more interesting. There are differences in each character in the film so that it becomes more colorful. For example is Jane and Elizabeth, two sisters who have a very different characteristics.

Jane is gentle, elegant, and more reserved than her sister– Elizabeth who tends to talk more, cheerful, and intelligent.

The opposite characters in a film can certainly make the film feel more alive. The scoring or the classical instrument music is also bring out the 18th century vibes and gives a calming effect to the audience.

The ending in this film is perfect and appropriate to end the story. This is because the happy ending occured after all the conflicts that the characters have experienced.

In conclusion, Pride & Prejudice (2005) is amazing and really recommended for people who like movies with drama or romance genres. You will feel that the love between two people can overcome the ego in their relationship.
